Arrive
A few minutes of gentle breathing.
An invitation to gather
A place for real conversation and human connection.
Sometimes we need somewhere to tell the truth. Sometimes we need someone to witness our lives. Sometimes we just need to sit with other people, laugh a little, sip our tea, and remember that we are not navigating this beautiful, complicated human experience alone.

How Porch Time Began
People listened, taught me, fed me, encouraged me, and stayed beside me. Over the years, people have come to me with grief, loneliness, relationships, caregiving, changing bodies, and raising children; with losing ourselves along the way, children leaving home, jobs ending, dreams changing, and beginning again.
I miss my people, and I know many of us are carrying more than anyone can see.
A memory that stayed with me
After losing my daughter, aunt, husband, and father, I wanted to join an online Bhakti yoga group hosted by Janet Gallo. I did not feel I had much to say, so I asked Janet if I could attend silently. She said yes.
I was 58 years old and realized I was still asking another person for permission to honor what I needed.
People do not need permission to care for themselves in the way they need.
What Is Porch Time?
Porch Time is small, unrecorded, and online on Zoom. We gather for about an hour. It is a low-pressure place for real conversation, connection, and listening.
We may bring books, practices, recipes, questions, shared experiences, breathwork, meditation, and Ayurveda into the conversation. I bring what I have learned and what I am still learning. You bring your experience, questions, humor, and whatever is in your cup.
This is not therapy, and no one is required to share.
You may talk, listen, laugh, cry, drink tea, turn off your camera, or simply be present.
Listening is participating, too.
What Happens When We Gather?
A few minutes of gentle breathing.
A thought or question to begin with.
Conversation, listening, and room for laughter.
Something meaningful to take into the week.
No preparation is needed. Just come as you are.No perfect answer is required.
Come sit with us

Grief is not only about death. It may come with aging, changing bodies, caregiving, relationships ending, children leaving home, or the loss of a future we once imagined. Inspired in part by David Kessler’s Finding Meaning.
An additional chance to join the same conversation offered on October 3.

Meditation does not need to be perfect, long, or separate from everyday life. We will explore simple meditation and breathing practices for real life, as it is now.

We will explore seasonal changes in body, mind, and energy; daily rhythms (dinacharya); Ayurveda; and something seasonal and yummy.

Inspired by Dr. Jennie Young’s Burn the Haystack and her work involving rhetoric and dating, we will explore patterns, trusting what we notice, and discernment in relationships, friendships, families, workplaces, and everyday life.
For women, including anyone who identifies as a woman.
An open invitation
Porch Time begins online so my people in Las Vegas, New Jersey, Asheville, and elsewhere can gather together. Our porch can travel with us.
Come to one conversation or several. There is no long-term commitment. The groups are intentionally small. Calendly will send a confirmation and private Zoom details.
Plans change?
Please cancel your registration so someone else can attend.
In the future
There will be in-person Porch Times in Las Vegas, too. I’ll provide the tea.
Let’s be there for one another, no matter the distance.
I need this, too.
